In The First Three Days I Am Inspired

Just received this image from a design challenge contestant...They would like their bookshelves to look like this.  Even down to the retriever in the foreground.  I am ok with the shelving inspiration but does anyone have an idea about incorporating the dog into the scene?  Ceramic, faux painting?  Bring me your ideas!

Does the contestant have a dog? If yes, you could find an artist who carves animals out of wood and give him/her a picture of the contestant's dog, in various angles, to carve out of wood. You can request any size you like and have it painted the same colour as the dog. Artsy & meaningful. If they don't have a dog...well, it's just artsy.

Ahh - the challenges of interior design. I think a statue or carving is the best bet. Or a painting that you can hang somewhere over the shelves. Do show pictures of it when your finished! Good luck!!

I also like the idea of a carved or painted dog statue, especially a look-alike as the dog of the contestant..

good luck, and YES! must see pictures of the winners shelving unit!

If you must do dog, I can see a life size ceramic retriever here, it would be a fab addition to the scene and would be even more interesting if it were in a contrasting color like red or gold or silver, just to make it even more of a standout piece.

Great ideas, all!
Maybe I should add a cat to the mix??

What a great wall! I think either a ceramic or carved wood statue would be the best way to incorporate a dog in the design :)
